An amphibious sport-plane for the ultimate flight

So this is a plane that’s been 12 years in the making, and designed by a team that was led by a former US Air Force Pilot. Now you know what to expect. The Icon A5 Amphibious Sport Plane has been created by some of the world’s best aircraft/car/boat designers and it shows in the versatility and ingenuity of its design. With a single prop behind the cockpit, powered by a 100 hp Rotax 912 engine running on regular premium gasoline, this 2-seater can fly for up to 400 miles on a full tank, at maximum 109 miles per hour and at 15,000 feet of altitude. Created with a lightweight airframe and folding wings, towing and storing it would be a cinch. The best part? Operating it requires a sport license that takes only 20 hours of training.  Made in California and priced at $190,000, the A5 also boasts an array of cool features including a high visibility canopy, removable side windows, high intensity lighting, retractable landing gear, air parachute, and water platforms that allow it to take off & land on water.
