Audrey Hepburn’s memorabilia up for auction at Christie’s

Some of Audrey Hepburn’s most cherished personal items will be up for sale at Christie’s auction on September 27 in London. The archive will include designer pieces from her wardrobe, annotated copies of her film scripts (including Breakfast at Tiffany’s), and portraits by renowned photographers such as Bud Fraker and Steven Miesel. Also on sale will be the satin blue Givenchy cocktail dress she wore in a photograph promoting the film Two for the Road in 1966, estimated at $11,000-$17,000; a long, tan Burberry trench coat estimated at $6,700-$9,000, not forgetting her signature colorful ballet flats estimated at $1,700. Plus there is the gold cigarette lighter engraved with ‘For My Fair Lady’ on the cap, which was a gift to Hepburn from art director Gene Allen, now estimated at $3,300-$5,600. The top estimate however belongs to the script for  Breakfast at Tiffany’s,  annotated with her signature turquoise ink— $67,000-$90,000.
