German automaker BMW is working on a hardcore version of the M2 coupe named as the M2 CSL., expected to be similar to the older M3 CSL but with stripped-down interior and carbon fibre parts to reduce weight. The engine is expected to be the existing 3-litre turbocharged straight-six petrol which belts out 400bhp of power, mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox delivering power to the rear wheels.
