Chanel’s Ode to the Harvest at Paris Couture Week!

Chanel’s recently-launched Les Blés de Chanel high-jewellery collection quite literally embodies the season of harvest. Designed like stalks of wheat standing in the fields, this 62 piece collection symbolises prosperity through crops. Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel was born in August, which is harvest time for farmers in France.  Harvested crops are globally considered symbols of blessing and fertility in all places with agrarian roots—and so too with Chanel’s new line. It’at the Paris Couture Week this year masterfully coincided with the art installation by street artist Gad Weil at the Place Vendôme in Paris, who brought to life a rural oasis with over a million stalks of wheat.
