Dubai gets ready to build the world’s first rotating skyscraper

Dubai is all set with its plans to build the world’s first skyscraper by 2020. Plans for the 80-story building were first announced in 2008 but the go ahead has only been declared now. Designed by architect David Fisher of Dynamic Architecture, the skyscraper will be titled Dynamic Tower and rise 1,273 feet in the air. What’s more, it will daily rotate 360 degrees to give residents varying views at different moments. Each floor would actually rotate separately, changing the shape of the entire building throughout the day. 79 wind turbines placed horizontally between the levels will generate enough energy for the spinning floors, while solar ink on the roofs would create additional clean energy for the building. Using prefabricated units, the tower’s floors will be assembled at a factory before being attached to the building.
