Eco friendly new age décor: Algae-filled glass chandelier!

In the age when we’re seeking eco-friendly alternatives to everything, why should the grand chandelier be left behind? Julian Melchiorri, London based designer and leading biochemical technology researcher, has come up with a unique innovative and also gorgeous looking chandelier that’s filled with algae, which constantly purify the air inside your room! Termed the ‘Exhale Chandelier’,  it comes in a special bionic-leaf format that uses basic photosynthesis to convert Carbon dioxide into oxygen, and can be used both indoors and outdoors. An artificial leaf system stores live algae between glass structures that can be configured into designs using various forms and shapes. Currently on display at the V&A museum for the London Design week, this chandelier sure is a “breath of fresh air”!
