Scarlett Johansson has been named top grossing actor of the year 2016 by Forbes. That’s quite a wonderful development, we think, since for the most part of history, male actors have been ruling the roost. But Scarlett’s shot to the very top now, thanks to her roles in movies such as “Sing”, “The Jungle Book”, “Hail Caesar!”, and “Captain America: Civil War”, which helped her rake in a total of $1.2 billion in ticket sales in 2016. Her Civil War co-stars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., who raked in $1.15 billion, tied for the second spot. The commercial hit that played a major role in deciding the rankings of these three stars also went on to become the top-grossing movie of 2016 with $1.15 billion. Well here’s to Scarlett and to seeing more of her in 2017 !
