Galop from Hermes: homage to the brand’s equestrian roots

Two years after being appointed the in-house perfumer of Hermès, Christine Nagel’s has presented her first major creation for Hermès Parfums, and the special thing about ‘Galop’ is that it has a back to the roots association for the brand. Yes, Hermes has distinctive equestrian roots since it started ot as a saddle manufacturer. Galop combines two unexpected ingredients that display Nagel’s dexterity: doblis calfskin, usually used in men’s scents, which brings an animal side to the scent; and rose which bring feminine sensuality to it. These two aromas are blended with notes of quince and saffron. The bottle that Galop is housed in complements it perfectly, for it is shaped like a stirrup and completed with a leather lace. Now that’s what we call a neat finish.
