Highest French Honour conferred upon Manish Arora

Celebrating his contribution to the world of fashion, veteran designer and maestro of Indian couture Manish Arora was bestowed with the highest honour of France—theChevalier de la Legion d’Honneur in New Delhi. Presented by the French Ambassador Francois Richier, in the presence of Arora’s friends and socialitesKalyani Saha, Rahul Mishra, Subodh Gupta and Ambika Pillai the honour is one of the most prestigious recognitions Arora has received, applauding his work that took flight from India to Paris and has been showcased on international ramps and museums. Enlisting Arora in a league that already has Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan,JRD Tata, Nadir Godrej and Yashwant Sinha, the award identifies key players whose contribution has given a boost to the fields they work in. While Manish was extremely delighted on receiving the insignia of the Légion d’Honneur, French Ambassador Richier congratulated him for the award, saying, ‘Manish has a long-standing connection with France, which is like a second home for him. He is a pioneer in bringing the fashion culture of both countries together with his exuberant imagination. I am delighted to confer this high honour on him.
