Island designed by Frank Lloyd Wright up for grabs at $14.9 million

The entirety of the heart-shaped Petra island in Mahopac Lake, New York, is currently up for sale—and it’s been designed by the renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The 11 acre island features a main residence, cottage, guest house, tea house and dock, with the 5000sq-ft main residence built in 2008 from Frank Lloyd Wright’s final plans. The main residence has six bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and uses natural materials, with just one departure from the original plans: the helipad up top. More important though, is the 1,200 square foot cottage on the island which was actually designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright himself. His master plan could not be completed then, because the client’s finances went downhill putting a stop to further work. With the original plans finally being brought to life, this entire island with all its features is up for sale at $14,920,000.
