Kristina Dam’s Sculptural Minimalism collection

Bring that minimalist luxe touch to your posh home Danish design firm Kristina Dam Studio has created Minimalist coat stands and book shelves based on intersecting geometric shapes. The pieces are part of the studio’s Sculptural Minimalism collection of furniture and homeware described as having “a distinct Scandinavian and architectural expression”. The collection’s steel-framed Book Keeper is a single shelf fashioned from two square prisms. The first frame sits flat on the surface, while the second rests on top at a 45-degree slant, so the books that sit on it are angled with their spines pointing upwards. It provides a decorative display for a small selection of books. The Grid Coat Stand, also made from steel, features a single frame in the shape of a rectangular prism, intersected by a low steel shelf for shoes, and a single rail that sits flush with the top of the frame for hanging clothes. Dam wanted the piece to be “easy to place in a hall, bedroom or even bathroom”. Both the Book Keeper and Grid Coat Stand are available painted in black or white. The Sculptural Minimalism collection also includes lighting, candlesticks, stoneware vases and a series of “desk sculptures” in complementary stone, marble, wood and brass.
