The first fully electric MINI is all set for its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2017. BMW Group had earlier announced that the new battery-electric MINI would be a variant in the brand’s three-door hatchback product portfolio. With the addition of the electric drivetrain, MINI will be offered with a choice of powertrain which includes petrol and diesel engines, a plug-in hybrid and an all-electric variant. The electric MINI’s powertrain will be manufactured at BMW Group’s e-mobility centre in Bavaria. Then the powertrain will be delivered to MINI’s main production plant in Oxford, UK. The electric car will enter production in 2019.
