The St Regis at San Fransisco has partnered with tea manufacturing firm Tealeaves to create the world’s most expensive Bubble tea, which has been christened ‘The Boba Tea Shake’! This Bubble tea contains an amalgamation of Indian, Chinese and Ceylon black teas blended with lychee and passion fruit oils, all mixed with a special technique of merging using ice, a complete departure from the technique used for the creation of hot tea. And instead of letting ice melt within the drink, it’s cooled in a cocktail shaker. Hence the “Teashake” name. Additionally, the Boba Shake contains tapioca pearls blended with herbal tea and boasts such exotic ingredients as passionfruit coulis, sea salt caramel foam, and even fleur de sel. This unique bubble tea has been created by Franck Desplechin, executive chef at The St. Regis San Francisco.
