Paris gets its first permanent fashion museum

Chanel has partnered with the Palais Galliera to create the first permanent fashion museum in France. Slated for an opening in late 2017, the gallery will be named Salles Gabrielle Chanel, The Gabrielle Chanel Rooms and will be situated in the 670-square-meter basement of the Palais Galliera. The space will be devoted to the history of fashion from the 18th century to the present day, and the museum’s permanent collections, which comprise some 200,000 garments, accessories and documents.
