Porsche 911 GT2 RS 2018 to command over 640 horsepower

Porsche’s upcoming 911 GT2 RS is expected to be one powerful, speedy devil, with more than 640 horsepower at its command with 750 Nm of torque. It will use the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat six from the 911 Turbo S, but cranked up for the necessary increase in power. To aid the engine, Porsche will introduce a water injection system similar to the one used in the BMW M4 GTS. The engine also gets beefed-up internals, larger turbochargers, and a titanium exhaust. Like before, it will send all that power just to the rear wheels, though only through Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch transmission. Weighing just under 1450 kilograms, the 911 GT2 RS makes use of lightweight materials like Gorilla Glass, titanium and carbon fibre. The car is supposed to be just months away from production stage and expected to cost well over $200,000.
