India would soon see the introduction of an extremely bizarre form of luxury: a water bottle priced at Rs 65 lakh. The Beverly Hills Drink Company is introducing their series of luxury drinking water, named Beverly Hills 9OH2O, to the Indian markets as a part of their global expansion plans. The bottle water apparently features “superior spring water from 5,000 feet up in the pristine southern California Mountains.” Jon Gluck, Co-founder and President, Beverly Hills Drink Company, reportedly stated: “The taste of Beverly Hills 9OH2O is silky smooth, incredibly crisp, and remarkably light.” Of course, the taste of water alone cannot justify the unbelievable price tag, so according to reports each bottle is designed by a renowned jeweler, and features a white gold cap set with over 600 G/VS white diamonds and over 250 black diamonds, totalling 14 carats. Yes, all this on the cap of a bottle of very precious water. Oh, and there’s also a Diamond Edition package that includes a one-year supply of the Lifestyle Collection of Beverly Hills 9OH2O.
