Louis Vuitton has debuted a new line of denim for men and it’s taking the fashion world by storm. And even though there have been endless variations of the denim favourite, this collection is something else. This collection will be launched alongside the Heritage Denim Capsule which has been inspired by Louis Vuitton’s archival trunks and come in five styles of which three are limited edition. Among the Limited edition pieces are a pair of metallic gold jeans inspired by a 1903 copper-covered trunk and a silver-coated pair inspired by a trunk from 1899.The third limited edition pair references the brand’s 1936 crocodile trunk and is made from luxe croc leather. Only 101 pairs of these limited edition jeans have been created. The Denim collection will be available from July 2016 in just six of Louis Vuitton’s stores worldwide, but you can also buy them online at louisvuitton.com

German luxury brand Montblanc is best known for its sophisticated writing instruments and fine Swiss-made timepieces but its leather pieces too are undoubtedly stuff to salivate over. The brand has now unveiled the Urban Spirit leather collection that targets the urban jet setting explorer, who seeks both style and functionality. From small leather accessories to larger leather goods, the 22 pieces that make up Montblanc’s latest leather collection provide both comfort and security. To add further reliability and enhanced appeal, the pieces boast a special feature, the Montblanc Shield—a special lining added in the internal pockets of small leather goods and the internal zipped pocket of large leather goods to increase protection against unauthorized reading, copying and tampering of personal data contained in the chips embedded in credit cards and passports. Characterized by pure lines and simple masculine shapes and aesthetics, large leather pieces deliver smart organization solutions. A Double Gusset Briefcase with an iconic Montblanc closure system covered in leather boasts capacious compartments, along with a practical satellite system that allows the briefcase to be conveniently hung on trolleys. There’s also a Large Document Case with two compartments to store a laptop and documents separately, and this too features the practical satellite system.

From zooming on the roads to zipping on the golf course, you can now go Mercedes all the way. Yes, the German luxury automaker has unveiled the ultimate Mercedes-Benz Style Edition Garia Golf Car, which “translates the Mercedes-Benz ideal of ‘sensual purity’ to an electric golf cart.” While Mercedes designed the four horsepower carts, they were built by the Danish golf cart manufacturer Garia.Only two concept carts have been made but if there are enough potential buyers the Mercedes-Benz Style cart could go into full production. With a top speed of 19 miles an hour, the luxury golf car has all the equipment — turn signals, brake lights, etc. — needed for low-speed use on roads, where allowed, as well on the links. Its amenities include a refrigerator under the bench seat, and a storage tray under the dashboard for golf balls. There are also storage spaces for glasses and bottles. There’s a touch screen display that shows driving information, such as speed. But it can also show, for instance, a map of the course or weather information. What really sets this golf cart apart, though, are the materials used to make it. The roof is made from expensive carbon fiber and there’s even a carbon fiber air diffuser on the back, a humorous reference to performance cars that use such aerodynamic aids. The interior features wood, high-quality leather and brushed metal. Now that’s Merc for you!

It’at the Paris Couture Week this year masterfully coincided with the art installation by street artist Gad Weil at the Place Vendôme in Paris, who brought to life a rural oasis with over a million stalks of wheat.

Amid bickering and blame shifting on climate change, some people are really going that extra mile to do their bit for the planet. Paris has just inaugurated the first stretch of its cycle super highway, which it expects to have completed by 2020, at a cost of $164.5 million. This move will help reduce traffic, improve road experience, and also make the city a greener place. The Réseau express vélo (REVe) opened its first stretch along the Bassin de l’Arsenal. With these express lanes government officials hope to see an increase in daily bike trips from five to 15 per cent by 2020 – doubling the bike lanes from 435 to 870. This isn’t just good for the planet, it’s good for the people’s health, too. A healthier, greener commute—perhaps we should seriously contemplate such bike highways in India. Would do our choked cities a world of good!
