St Regis has partnered with French brand Vilebrequin for an exclusive swimwear collection for its guests, to be retailed only by St Regis Hotels and Resorts. The swim trunks are actually a celebration of the hotel chain’s signature cocktail, the ‘Red Snapper’, nicknamed thus in 1934 when Fernand Petiot brought his signature vodka and tomato juice mixer from Paris’ La Maisonette Russe to what was then the new King Cole Bar. The drink was then renamed the “Red Snapper” to avoid offending the well-heeled clientele. The Vilebrequin swim trunks therefore proudly flaunt a whimsical pattern of red snapper, and come in both men’s and boy’s versions. Prices range from $250 for adult size trunks, $140 for boys aged 10-12 and $120 for little ones in the age group of 2-8.

The entirety of the heart-shaped Petra island in Mahopac Lake, New York, is currently up for sale—and it’s been designed by the renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The 11 acre island features a main residence, cottage, guest house, tea house and dock, with the 5000sq-ft main residence built in 2008 from Frank Lloyd Wright’s final plans. The main residence has six bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and uses natural materials, with just one departure from the original plans: the helipad up top. More important though, is the 1,200 square foot cottage on the island which was actually designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright himself. His master plan could not be completed then, because the client’s finances went downhill putting a stop to further work. With the original plans finally being brought to life, this entire island with all its features is up for sale at $14,920,000.
