Triumph Motorcycles will introduce the Street Scrambler in India on Aug 24.  The Street Scrambler borrows its design cues from the Bonneville, sporting minimalistic body work with scrambler features such as side-mounted exhaust, removable pillion foot pegs, interchangeable pillion seat and aluminium rack and engine bash plate. Powered by the existing 900cc parallel-twin engine, the Street Scrambler gets 54bhp and 80Nm of torque, with the engine re-tuned for more power in the lower rev band and better throttle response. Expected to be priced around Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) this is supposed to be a bike with some off-roading capabilities as well.

The very last Vertu phones are soon to be under the hammer now. The brand, which was synonymous with extravagant, blingy phones decked with materials such as gold, titanium, diamonds and other precious stones. A collection of 105 of these will be up for auction at Bid Spotter, with items on offer spanning older models from 2002 to newer ones from 2015. Bids begin at $26,000 which could be quite a bargain for these precious phones. This could be pretty great news for collectors, though.

Tag Heuer is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the very first victory of Formula One racing Legend Ayrton Senna, with a limited edition offering. TAG Heuer has released two Ayrton Senna limited edition chronographs and one-time-only watch, unveiled at a special ceremony attended by Senna’s niece, Bianca at the inauguration of TAG Heuer’s new boutique in Monaco. Often been voted as the best, most influential Formula One driver of all time, Ayrton Senna won the legendary Monaco Grand Prix for the very first time in 1987. The two limited edition chronographs unveiled are the Ayrton Senna Carrera Heuer-01 and the Ayrton Senna  Formula 1 limited edition quartz chronograph. The Ayrton Senna Carrera Heuer-01 limited edition chronograph comes with 45 mm case in black brushed steel with red design accents, skeleton dial and sapphire case back. The movement is the modified Calibre 1887, a proprietary movement which the maison has been using since 2010. The Formula 1 limited edition quartz Chronograph, on the other hand, comes in DLC black colour-schemes highlighted with touches of red; a homage to high speed racing colourways. The chronograph features a Ronda 5040D quartz chronograph capable of timing up to a vaunted tenth of a second. AS for the one time only edition, it comes with a dial featuring three red lines, hinting at the tracks left by a speeding race car. All three watches display the famous stylised red lacquer “S” – an exclusive Senna symbol, on the dial and bezel. The bezel also has a minute track, lending the pieces a racing feel.

Carl F. Bucherer’s classic Manero PowerReserve sees the addition of two vivid models in limited editions. The manufacture model with integrated power reserve display features elaborate dials in bright midnight blue and luminous pine green. Its centerpiece is the CFB A1011 caliber automatic movement. It belongs to the CFB A1000 movement family, entirely designed as well as developed by Carl F. Bucherer, and first presented in 2008. Its special features include the peripheral oscillating weight winding in both directions, allowing the movement a power reserve of at least 55 hours – or more than two full days – when fully wound. The first fully electric MINI is all set for its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2017. BMW Group had earlier announced that the new battery-electric MINI would be a variant in the brand’s three-door hatchback product portfolio. With the addition of the electric drivetrain, MINI will be offered with a choice of powertrain which includes petrol and diesel engines, a plug-in hybrid and an all-electric variant. The electric MINI’s powertrain will be manufactured at BMW Group’s e-mobility centre in Bavaria. Then the powertrain will be delivered to MINI’s main production plant in Oxford, UK. The electric car will enter production in 2019.

The Victorinox I.N.O.X Sky High Limited Edition is a gorgeous new version of their 2014 release with new age transformation including a titanium upgrade.  It comes with a white dial that has a red 24-hour scale applied to the crystal, plus a matching Naimakka paracord strap. Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the GLC ‘Celebration Edition’ to celebrate 70 years of Independence. The Celebration Edition SUV will be available in limited numbers only, in petrol and diesel variants both. A number of interior and exterior accessories feature in the limited edition SUV, such as LED Logo projector, exterior mirror housing in high gloss black, sports pedals, Garmin MAP PILOT, High-sheen chromed trim and rear trim strip in chrome. The GLC 220d Celebration Edition is priced at Rs 50.86 lakh, and the GLC 300 Celebration Edition is available at Rs 51.25 lakh ex-showroom (pan India). Looks like the German carmaker is going all out to celebrate Independence Day with India.

The Mercedes-AMG GT R just set the lap record for being the fastest production car around the famed Buddh International Circuit (BIC). The car which is all set to be launched in India this year, clocked a timing of 02:09.853 at the circuit. The test was conducted by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) and behind the wheel of the GT R was AMG Driver Christian Hohenadel. The previous lap record was also held by Mercedes, on the SLS AMG  with a lap timing of 2:14.521. The Mercedes-AMG GT R is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that pumps put a powerful 570bhp and 700Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The GT R can sprint to 100km/h from a standstill in 3.6 seconds and zip to top speeds of 316km/h.

Infiniti has revealed the Prototype 9 concept electric vehicle ahead of its Pebble Beach debut. The Infiniti Protoype 9 is a sleek and superbly good looking vehicle that draws inspiration from classic race cars. And it features a motor that is fully electric:  a 30kWh battery which has a distant connection to the Nissan Leaf’s battery. Placed at the rear, this motor produces 148bhp and 320Nm of torque, making the car capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.5 seconds and gives it top speeds of 168 kmph.  The aluminium body work also contributes by giving the car an overall weight of only 890kg. The only worrying fact here is the range. Infiniti claims that the Prototype 9 is good for around 20 minutes of track time.
